Every year we eagerly await the opportunity to make selections from the latest Copa De Oro competition, held by our partners Osito. This season we were fortunate to begin two new purchasing relationships through the Copa De Oro, and this coffee is our final release from the 2025 competition.

Every year for the Copa De Oro, a myriad of coffee producers in three regional divisions around Huila all contribute a coffee to be scored by a calibrated panelist of judges. Producers are offered large bonus incentives for their coffees placing in the top 15. Over the course of 3 days of intensive, blind cuppings, the judges winnow down the coffees to the final 15, and then subsequently on the 4th and final day judge through the final 15.

In the latest iteration of this competition, held in December 2025, Javier Cantillo placed 3rd in the Central division with this Gesha. We had the immense privilege to be offered a small amount of Javier's lot, and we are thrilled to make it available to you now. We hope and intend to honor Javier's exceptional coffee and his work in the way we roast and present this coffee to you.

The cup opens with a very fruit-forward, pink tropical profile that is most reminiscent of dragonfruit. The florality strikes us as apple blossom, while the finish is intensely sweet reminding us of candied plums. This coffee falls in the "fruity washed coffee lover's dream," as the in-cherry step on this coffee has definitely elevated the presence of fruit in the cup. The florality takes a supportive role rather than being the forefront of the profile. Really unique for a Gesha profile, and a lovely finish to our Copa coffees for the year.
